Astronomy Club Stays Up Late for the Stars

Posted September 30th, 2016

20160924_191734PVHS Students spent all night looking towards the sky.  On September 24, the Astronomy Club packed up and headed to Dixon, Iowa to view the night sky.  The Quad City Amateur Astronomy members met 39 PVHS students and spent 3 hours showing them the night sky through 5 different telescopes.   The Astronomy Club is planning another trip in the future. In the Club, students will visit local planetariums & observatories, perform their own observations, and explore celestial bodies and astronomical events. With these activities, students are introduced to astronomy as a hobby and as an opportunity for future study.
