UPDATE January 26, 2017: After a successful move into the new addition at Cody, students, staff and volunteers moved into the temporary library. The library will be renovated into a new state-of-the-art media center. In the meantime, students will use what used to be Mrs. Duncan and Mrs. VenHorst’s room as a temporary library. Crews have already started work on what used to be Mrs. Notton, Mr. Grafenberg, and Mr. Hoppe’s rooms. Check out the pictures below!
December 19, 2016: The excitement bounced off the walls at Cody Elementary on Friday, December 16, 2016. It may be that they were just one week away from Winter break – or it could be seeing the brand new addition for the first time, and then getting to MOVE IN!
Fourth through Sixth Grade students spent the day moving from their old classrooms to new classrooms in the much-awaited addition. Construction crews have been pounding, drilling and sawing since spring of last year, and curiosity has grown and grown. The addition houses six new classrooms, new lockers, and new bathrooms.
As the students move in to the new space, construction crews will renovate the old classrooms and the library – adding extra space, which will allow for PV’s growing enrollment.
Check out pictures below and get a real feel of what the day was like from this story from WQAD.
