Americans across the country used their power to vote for President and at Pleasant View, 2nd graders learned about the process in their own way. Students held an election: which type of book should we read next, fiction or non-fiction? Students campaigned, giving speeches early in the day and then started voting in their very own polling place. Mrs. Nedved created a voting booth with an curtain, and on the inside a ballot and ballot box. T
hroughout the day, the kids would find time to cast their vote for which genre they felt was best. At the end of the day, with everyone’s vote counted, it turns out that non-fiction won by a landslide.
