To win once takes a lot of talent, but two win twice — back to back — has never happened in the history of the Doodle 4 Google Contest! Third grade students filled the library at Hopewell, clad in Google’s signature colors, to celebrate Shalini Chandupatala’s win! Google chooses a winner from each state and territory who then compete for the grand prize, having their design on the Google home page for a day!
Shalini’s doodle followed this year’s theme: “What I see for the future.” Members of Google’s team spoke to the students about innovations currently under design, like the Waymo, Google’s self driving car and the Tilt Brush, a virtual reality simulation that allows artists and scientists to “paint” in 3D.
To win the grand prize, Shalini needs your help. Vote for her doodle at this website. Voting will be open from February 23rd to March 6th. The National Winner will take home a $30,000 college scholarship and his or her school will receive a $50,000 Google for Education grant towards the establishment and improvement of a computer lab or technology program.
