Partners with a Purpose will meet today at 3:10 in room 62.
PE make-ups will be today after school. Anyone needing to make up a PE class can do that in the “A” gym from 2:30 until 3:10 pm.
There will be a Trap Shooting meeting on January 18th in the PVHS library from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Registration paperwork will be due at this meeting.
The last session for The Berlin Boxing Club will be Thursday, January 19 at 2:30-3:10.
The next book will be Cinder by Marissa Meyer and will start on Thursday, MARCH 9th. Students may sign up on the LA hallway bulletin board.
FACS club will be meeting Thursday, January 19th from 3:14-4:45 to assemble banners for the PE department. This activity is limited to 12 students and students must sign up on Mrs. Pardoe’s door in order to participate.
Polar Bear Running Club will meet today after school in room 43. Please dress in indoor running clothing and bring your warmer outdoor gear with you to room 43 at 3:20.
Come one and all to our yearbook meeting on Monday, October 17 from 3:15-4:30. We will meet in the computer lab (across from Ms. Dircks’ room) instead of in the library. We will vote on a theme for our yearbook as well as review the criteria for our custom cover contest. We will also go through the layout and determine our final page count. Girls Basketball and Wrestling practices will begin on Monday.
Students: Are you interested in flying in an airplane and becoming a pilot? Learning about aerospace? Do you want to honor and serve America in search and rescue missions? If so, speak with Mrs. Thompson (school counselor) about how you could join the Civil Air Patrol Cadet program! This is a year-round program that meets once a week on Tuesdays, with additional opportunities and experiences over the summer. You will learn leadership skills, do obstacle courses, model rocketry & robotics, hike, camp, explore aviation careers, aerospace education, learn search and rescue techniques, be able to earn rank and awards (with possible scholarships for college), make friends, and have FUN!
The Student Hunger Drive has begun at the Junior High! Start bringing in non-perishable food to your advisory class to participate in our annual Can-Castle Competition. The competition ends on October 28th! The most creative castle wins hot coca, candy canes, and the travelling trophy. The advisory with the most canned food will win Whitey’s ice cream! See your student council representatives with any questions. Good luck!
The PV Junior High Spelling Bee will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, beginning at 3:00. It will be held in the library. All are welcome to compete. Please see Mrs. Mulfinger in room 60 for more information!
The Fall Social is Friday, October 14th from 2:30 – 4:00. Admission will be $1. Concessions will be available. DJ & Open Gym. REMEMBER NO ACTIVITY BUS. Students must have their own ride home at 4:00 pm.

Be a part of PTA’s Reflections Program “What Is Your Story?” Submit your Artwork in the following areas: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Entries from all grades and all abilities welcome. Deadline for entries is October 18 and 19.
Food + Friends + Literature = FUN! Join the Book Munchers Club at the LeClaire Public Library on Monday, October 24th. We will meet from 5:00-6:00 p.m. to discuss Driver’s Ed by Caroline Cooney. Copies of the book are available in the PVJH library (ask a librarian for a copy…they are stored behind the check-out desk) and at the LeClaire Public Library.
