4th grade students across the district spend this part of the year researching the Industrial Revolution. In Mrs. Belby’s 4th grade class, students pile up post-it notes filled with facts they’ve found online and from books in the library about child labor laws during the early 20th century. They’re categorizing each note to see what they have in common. Each category helps them determine a theme, which in turn, will help them write sentences and paragraphs for their final project. It’s a lot of high-level thinking as all their research comes together. See the videos below for their discussions.
