Early Dismissal: There will be an Early Dismissal on Wednesday, December 6th. Please plan accordingly!

Winter Program Reminder:  The December 7th Winter Program is approaching quickly and Bridgeview wants all guests to be prepared!  This year, there will be two performances in an effort to accommodate the large audience more comfortably.  Guests of students with a last name that begins with A-K are encouraged to attend our 9:00 a.m. performance, while guests of students with last names L-Z are encouraged to attend the 1:00 p.m. performance. Thank you in advance and see you on the 7th!

Hat, Scarf, and Mitten Tree: This winter, Bridgeview will have a hat, scarf and mitten tree that families can donate to!  All items will be given to needy families in the community.  Items will need to be placed on the tree by December 13th and will be picked up on December 14th.  Thank you!

Activity Parking at PVHS: The one way drive in front of PVHS is for student drop off and pick up only.  Unoccupied cars parked along the drive will be ticketed.  As winter sporting events and activities begin at PVHS, it’s important all lanes on the drive remain open.  Only team busses are allowed to park along the North side of the one way drive.  There will be handicap parking spots in the West lot and door W1 will be open for entry.  Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as construction continues at PVHS.

Box Top Collection: Don’t forget to clip box tops over the next month!  When you turn in your box tops, include your name and there will be a drawing to give away three free movie tickets on the last day before Winter break.  Keep collecting!

The Cursive Club: A new weekly, before school club is starting at Hopewell!  Beginning on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, the Cursive Club will meet in the library from 7:45-8:15 a.m.  each week to learn the art of cursive.  If your 3rd-6th grader is interested, please click here for registration details.

Coffee with the Principal: Please join Mr. Welch and other Hopewell parents for Dunn Brothers coffee, casual conversations, and questions on Friday, December 8th, 8:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. in the Hopewell cafeteria. Hope you can make it!

Early Dismissal: There will be an Early Dismissal on Wednesday, December 6th. Please plan accordingly!

Box Top Collection: Pleasant View will be collecting box tops on Friday, December 8th for the Box Tops for Education Program.  Please be sure to have the box tops you have collected sent in to your classroom by December 8th.    Each box top is worth 10 cents and goes towards funding key school programs and classroom needs.

Winter Program Shuttle:  Avoid worrying about parking at Pleasant View on the day of the Winter Program!  Invitations for the December 8th Winter Program Shuttle were sent home earlier this week with students, and are due to the Pleasant View office Monday, December 4th. Click here to access a copy of the invitation if needed.  Please call the office at 332-5575 with questions about riding the shuttle.

6th Grade Fundraising:  During the December 8th Winter Program, in both the morning and afternoon performances, water bottles will be sold by 6th grade students.  Each bottle is $1.00 and the profits made from the sales will go toward the 6th grade end of the year celebration, as well as gift to Pleasant View.

PTA Pajama Drive: The PTA Pajama Drive continues through December 8th.  All new pajamas are needed, but larger sizes (sizes 12-20) are encouraged. The pajamas are donated to several organizations throughout the Quad Cities. Pajamas may be placed in the gift boxes in each classroom.  Please contact Shannon Korczak at under_His_grace@hotmail.com with any questions.

Battle of the Books:  Pleasant View students in 4th-6th grade are invited to participate in a Battle of the Books style competition. Using the Iowa Children’s Choice Award list, teams of students will have the opportunity to compete in a local, district, and regional event. Team registration time has begun! Registration is encouraged prior to winter break. Riverdale Heights

Early Dismissal: There will be an Early Dismissal on Wednesday, December 6th. Please plan accordingly!

Holiday Program Seats and Parking:  Don’t get stuck parking a mile away and sitting in the back of the gym for this year’s Holiday Program on December 15th.  The PTA is selling packages that include 2 front row seats and 1 parking spot. We have 10 packages available – 5 for the morning program and 5 for the afternoon program. Cost is $100 per package.   All proceeds will be used to help fund future activities of Riverdale Heights students.  To reserve a package, please go to the PTA website, where you can fill out our easy reservation form.  Attach form and turn it in with your payment to the Riverdale Heights Office.  The only way to reserve a package is to submit this form with your payment.  These packages will go fast, so be sure to turn in your form and payment quickly! Deadline is Friday, December 8th.  Contact Paula Cockrell with questions at pmc@salzmanintl.com.

December Advisor Challenge: The next advisor challenge will be a room decorating competition- similar to a door decorating competition, but with the whole classroom!  Students will start by helping their advisor class pick a theme to create a “Winter Wonderland” and bring in supplies from home. The advisor schedule on December 6th will be work time to decorate and put it all together.  Judges will be around on December 20th, and the winner will receive a classroom supply of hot cocoa and chocolate chip cookies!
