PTA Opening for VP (Spring 2017) / President (17-18) The PTA has a board position opening up because of an unexpected job transfer.  Carrie Paschke, who is VP this year and was slated to be President next year, will be moving to Kansas City at the end of the school year.  The PTA is looking for someone to take Carrie’s place and to transition this winter/spring.  If you are interested or would like to nominate someone, please contact PTA President Elisabeth Norwood at epnorwood_2000@yahoo.com or Carrie Paschke at carriepaschke@yahoo.com.

New Gifts to School Process    The PTA is transitioning to a new process for using the funds raised at Hopewell Harvest.  Instead of one large gift, we are implementing a grant process used by many other schools.   Individual classroom and specials teachers, grade-level teams, and other staff can apply for a grant for PTA funds.  Each grade level team will prioritize its requests and then all grant applications will be reviewed by Mr. Welch and the Board.   A proposal for grants to award will be presented at the PTA meeting on February 16 at 9:30 a.m.

The western most entrance to campus is the only entrance and exit for cars while the eastern entrance is for busses. There is also an area that has been specifically designed for students being dropped off or picked-up after school. This area is located at the west end of the school.  Students may be dropped off at any point past the Main Office Entrance sign and then proceed forward to the turnaround area. Students are welcome to enter the school through the West Entrance or Main Office Entrance. If you need to park and enter the building please do not park in the spaces closes to the building. These spaces are used for bus parking and/or turn-around.  A reminder that the building opens at 7:00 a.m. each day.  Your assistance in supporting a safer parking lot is greatly appreciated.
