PTA Reflections Ceremony, January 12:  Join us in the PVHS Cafeteria starting at 6:30pm to celebrate the hundreds of student-artists who submitted work in this year’s PTA Reflections Contest.

Questions, Answers and Coffee!  A clear theme of the PTA survey centered around the notion of  “I don’t know what the PTA does.” So, let’s fix that. Join us, Friday, Jan. 20 from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m. in the Cody cafeteria for coffee and conversation. Ask us anything – what the PTA committees do, our mission, the board members roles, we’ll answer everything. And if you have no questions, just come and meet some new faces.

Cody Calypso, January 27:  A FREE evening of fun and dancing for the WHOLE FAMILY!  The theme this year is “Grooving to the 70’s,” so come decked-out in your 70’s attire.  Cookies, popcorn, lemonade & water will be served.  There will be a hula-hoop and costume contest along with two hours of non-stop music and line dancing.  Parents are encouraged to use their cell phones or cameras to take photos of the kids with the various backdrops we’ll have set up.

We are in need of volunteers and food donations.  Please click here to sign up! or you can contact Stacy Porter (563-529-4551 or porter26779@aol.com). You can drop food/lemonade off in the Cody Office anytime the week of the event (January 23-27, 2017). This event is sponsored by the Cody PTA.  Students must be accompanied by an adult.

Spelling Bee Results: This year 21 students participated in the Spelling Bee held on December 6th in the cafeteria.  First place went to Nathan Musal and the runner up was Alaina Melchert.  Nathan and Alaina are invited to the regional Spelling Bee on February 22nd at Augustana College.  A big thank you to the judges: Cindi VenHorst, Teri Adams and Paul DelCorso and our pronouncer, Laurie Brasche.

Winter Weather Recess  Students will have outdoor recess when the temperature is 0-degrees or above.   That is, if the temperature (wind-chill included) is less than 0 degrees, our students stay inside for recess.  If they do go outside, make sure the students are dressed appropriately (coats, gloves or mittens, hats, and boots if necessary).  Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated!

FOR SAFETY and ACCOUNTABILITY, please remember to contact the main office if your child plans a different after school event other than their normal after school routine.  We take this responsibility very seriously.  Please write a note in their student planner, call (563)332-0210, email Mrs. Kipper, kipperjennifer@pleasval.k12.ia.us, or Mrs. Spinsby, spinsbyc@pleasval.k12.ia.us.
