Elementary Spelling Bee Winners Head to Regional Bee

Spelling is no easy task during the day to day in the classroom, and there’s even more pressure when you’re competing in front of an audience against your classmates!  Throughout this winter, PVCSD 3rd-6th graders practiced and competed in their school’s spelling bee, leaving one or two from each elementary school victorious.  Check out the details of each spelling bee, and the winners who will go on to compete at regionals!


  • 54 students in competition (school record!)
  • Went 7 rounds
  • Winner: Lillie Voges – 5th Grade


  • 16 students in competition
  • Went 16 rounds
  • Winner: Amrutya Kudigram – 4th Grade
  • Second: Molly Smith – 3rd Grade


  • 21 students in competition
  • Went 11 rounds
  • Winner: Muhammad Muddasir – 5th Grade
  • Second: Saipreeti Srinivasan – 6th Grade

Pleasant View

  • 21 students in competition
  • Went 12+ rounds
  • Winner: Emily Groves – 6th Grade
  • Second: Jonathon Rode – 5th Grade

Riverdale Heights

  • 21 students in competition
  • Went 14 rounds
  • Winner: Tanya Rastogi – 6th Grade (3rd year in a row RDH Spelling Bee Champion)
  • Second: Isaac Shepherd – 5th Grade

The Regional Spelling Bee takes place next month, where spellers could get the chance to win and go to the National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.!
