Each year, the Quad City Youth Symphony Orchestra features a student soloist during one of its concert programs. This year, both the Grand Prize winner and the Second Place, Youth Symphony Prize winner are Pleasant Valley student musicians!  Grand prize performs their concerto with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra at the Side-by-Side Concert, and the Youth Symphony Prize winner plays their’s at the QCSYEs Winter Festival Concert.

Ethan Good, senior trumpet player, is the Grand Prize winner. Ethan has been playing trumpet for six years, and plays in the marching, concert, and jazz bands, and in the regular and pit orchestras.

Keshav Wagle, senior oboe player, is the Youth Symphony Prize winner in the competition. Keshav has been playing the oboe for six years and also plays piano and cello, all while being a very involved student at PV in all things musical and theater related.

Keshav will be performing during the QCSYEs Winter Festival this Sunday, 2/25 at 3:00 p.m. in Centennial Hall. Ethan will take the stage later in the spring, on April 29th at the Adler Theatre with the QCSO.
