Jump Rope for Heart Deadline Approaching: Bridgeview and the American Heart Association want to thank all of you who helped raise money for our Jump Rope for Heart event here at Bridgeview. Students jumped rope in class for 2 weeks and have just concluded the unit. We hope we were able to teach students and their families about heart health and how they can keep their own hearts beating strong. We tried to provide a meaningful experience to the students by bringing students together to help raise vital funds to help kids with special hearts.  Those who helped are truly Heart Hero’s!

There is still time to register and raise money. If you are raising money on-line you do not need to return anything as all information is already available. If you collecting funds using the packets the packets/money are due back to Mr. Duwa on or before March 29th. Please be sure to fill out all needed information on the packet. Once all the packets are returned it will take 2-3 weeks before the gifts will arrive. If you have any questions please give Mr. Duwa a call at school 332-0215.

World Culture Night – April 12th – VOLUNTEERS  are NEEDED to Showcase Countries

Pleasant View is excited for World Culture Night on Friday, April 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.!  World Culture Night will celebrate the diverse cultures found in countries throughout the world as well as in Pleasant View.  It is a fun-filled event emphasizing understanding, acceptance, empathy and unity.  To make this event a success, participation is needed to help showcase a country of which you are familiar.   The displays are meant to help students learn about a country’s people and places and may include:

  • Size and location of the country
  • Capital and Country Flag
  • Typical day-to-day lifestyle
  • Cultural traditions
  • Common foods of the country
  • Any interesting facts!

We would also like to showcase dances, games, foods to share, etc. from the different countries.   Both parental and children participation is encouraged, and hopefully the whole family will want to participate in creating the displays, as well as dancing, games and food preparation.   Children will be given a “Passport” as they come that night so that they can get a sticker “stamp” for each country they visit.  At the end of the night, they can show their “stamped” passports and receive a prize.

Please contact Riddhi Satturu at (563) 650-7077 or wdmsurat@gmail.com or Ana Olsen at 563-650-6689 or olsenanach@me.com if you would like to be a part of this fun event!
