Summer Robotics Camp Openings: Spots have opened up for certain sessions of the “NXTreme Explorations” Robotics Camp! This camp is a summer opportunity for students to explore robotics through the use of LEGO Mindstorms NXT robots. Pleasant Valley students who are entering 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade for the 2018-2019 school year are invited to register.  Pleasant Valley students entering 9th-12th grades can volunteer to be a Peer Coach for any session of camp for fun or service-learning hours and should register using the same form. Washington D.C. Info Meeting: For parents of students signed up for this summer’s Washington, D.C. trip, there will be an informational meeting held in the Junior High library at 6:30 PM on Monday, May 13.  We will go over a packing list, itinerary, and other pertinent materials at that time.  Parents and students are encouraged to attend if at all possible.  If you are unable to make the meeting, please contact Mrs. Kraklio at krakliosarah@pleasval.k12.ia.us to make other arrangements.

8th Grade Social: Attention 8th Graders, the Class of 2023 – The PTA is providing an 8th Grade Social on Friday, May 17 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  This will be at Pleasant Valley Junior High School.  There will be music, a photo area, snacks, beverages, open gym, and FUN!  This is a casual event that is free for the Class of 2023!  Enter at the Activities Door. See you the 17th!

8th Grade Social Volunteers: To provide the social to PVJH 8th Graders, the PTA needs volunteersWe would like to have a couple shifts from 5:50 -6:45pm and 5:45 – 7:30pm.  If you are able to stay for the entire Social that would be great!  This event is for 8th Grade only and there is no admission charge.  The volunteers would be helping with the snacks and beverages and monitoring the hall or gym.  Click here to sign up!

Take Care of Library Accounts Now:  Any library books that are checked out need to be returned to the library by end of day Friday, May 31. Fines also should be paid by this time as well. Students can log into Destiny, the card catalog, and check their accounts at any time. The username is their student ID number, and the password is their last name. After logging in, click on the “My Info” tab to see what/if books are checked out, when they are due, and what fines may be owed. Access Destiny here. Please note, books that are not returned by the end of the year are marked lost, and the replacement cost and a $5.00 non-refundable fee is also assessed. Please email Mrs. Roche with any questions.

This is a fun event that is very rewarding for PVHS Seniors who have worked hard to graduate! It would be great to see you there to help send the Seniors off with a nice outdoor gathering. Transcripts for Seniors: Seniors do not forget to request your final transcripts to your college/university, NCAA, and NAIA via your Parchment account.  When placing the order, select “Hold for Grades” and your request will be sent when grades are posted to the transcript.  You are able to place your request now by selecting “Hold for Grades”.    If you have any questions contact Ms. Kipp in the Counseling Office.  Good luck Class of 2019!
