Bettendorf Hy Vee Citizenship Scholarship
The endowment which supports this scholarship began when 2009 Pleasant Valley graduate, Thomas Graham, won the Smiles for Education award from HyVee. As part of this award, Pleasant Valley High School was given $5,000 to use in support of educational programming. District officials discussed the idea of using this money to help endow a scholarship with The Pleasant Valley Educational Foundation with those at the Bettendorf HyVee Store. Because of the Bettendorf HyVee Store’s commitment to education and the community, additional funds were secured from HyVee, Inc. to endow the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to a Pleasant Valley graduate who exemplifies the HyVee values of friendliness, helpfulness, integrity, dedication, and community involvement.
