Crist Family Scholarship
As a thank you to the Pleasant Valley community, Ron and Amy Crist decided to endow a scholarship in their family’s name for a PVHS senior who is interested in automotive and diesel tech. The Crists own long-time PV business Duck Creek Tire and know the value of community-mindedness and the need for more students to choose a career in the trades.
In 1998, Mr. Crist opened Duck Creek Tire just around the corner from Pleasant Valley High School. His grandparents (a plumber and school lunch lady) instilled a legacy of hard work and determination in their grandson. He knows from experience that working with his hands allowed him to have a great quality of life and this scholarship is meant to encourage students to do the same.
Amy and Ron married in 2006 and their son, Mitchell, graduated from Pleasant Valley High School. Amy is currently the Senior Vice President for Commercial Lending for the Quad City Region at TBK Bank. Ron serves on the CTE advisory board for Pleasant Valley Schools. This scholarship is in honor of the long-time relationships the Crists have built with the PV community.
