Mary Mulvihill Memorial Scholarship
In her 34 years of teaching first and second grade full-time at Riverdale and Riverdale Heights and another 12 years as a substitute in all the Pleasant Valley elementary schools, Mary Mulvihill’s greatest reward came when she was able to help struggling students learn to read.
Her friends and family established this scholarship in her honor to help the kinds of students she most valued teaching: Those who had to work hard and overcome adversity to learn.
This scholarship is available to Pleasant Valley graduating seniors in the third quartile of their class who have demonstrated hard work and are planning to attend college. Financial need is also considered.
