(T2K) Transition To Kindergarten Enrollment
Screening Process
To have your child screened for T2K at Bridgeview, please follow the steps below:
T2K is offered to students who are residents of the Pleasant Valley Community School District with a birthdate between June 1st and September 15th. Students will be screened in end of March or early April and data obtained from the screenings will be considered when selecting students for the class. 12 to 15 students will be selected for placement in the program. Students not selected will be placed on a waiting list, should openings occur at a later date.
All potential students are assessed using a consistent screening instrument prior to enrollment in the T2K program. The purpose of the screening is to obtain a sampling of a child’s skills and behaviors. Information from the screening, along with other factors, such as previous preschool experience, as well as individual student needs, is used to determine student enrollment in the program.
If the student is selected for enrollment, parents must provide the student’s birth certificate, record of immunizations and a current physical prior to the student’s start date. Your child will not be allowed to attend until all records are on file.
Screenings are conducted each end of March/early April for the following school year. Please complete the T2K Inquiry Form to begin the screening process begining in January. You will be contacted to schedule your child's screening in March.
