Thanks to a grant from the Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA), Pleasant Valley Junior High has acquired an Essex baby grand piano with a recording player system for our vocal music department. This significant upgrade from our previous piano, which often fell out of tune and hindered our daily rehearsals and voice lessons, marks a notable improvement in our music education facilities.
Peter Grau, Director of Vocal Music at PVJH, shared his excitement about this new addition: 'The piano has been a great addition to the PVJH choir room. Its size is perfect for the room and for ensembles, and it has been a much nicer piano to have for solo and ensemble performances. Giving students the feeling of a professional performance by learning to sing from the 'crook,' and its ability to hold its tune quite well, which helps students to sing better in tune.'
The Essex baby grand piano is enhancing the musical experience of approximately 250 students who participate annually in our Junior High vocal music program. This new piano not only holds its tune reliably but also matches the size and quality of our vocal music ensembles. It is now being used for daily rehearsals, individual voice lessons, and performances, significantly enriching the musical experience of our students at PV Junior High.
We sincerely thank SCRA for its support of our Pleasant Valley Community School District students!
