Pleasant Valley High School senior Mackenzie Fah has been named the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizenship Award. Nominated by her teachers, Mackenzie was selected for demonstrating the outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism—core values recognized and rewarded by the DAR.
The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest was established in 1934 to encourage and celebrate these qualities in high school seniors across the country. Once a student is chosen as their school's DAR Good Citizen, they are invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program, which involves submitting a personal statement and writing an essay on a topic provided by the DAR. Student participation in the scholarship portion is optional, but awards are offered to essay winners at the chapter, state, division, and national levels.
Pleasant Valley is proud to have her represent our school and district!
