We are thrilled to announce the results of this year’s Iowa Choral Directors Association Opus Honor Choir selection. Pleasant Valley has 36 students accepted, ranking our district 4th highest in the state!
The Opus Honor Choir Festival is an annual event sponsored by the Iowa Choral Directors Association. Students from across Iowa audition for the chance to perform in one of four prestigious ensembles:
- 5th-6th Grade Mixed Chorus
- 7th-8th Grade Bass Clef Choir
- 7th-8th Grade Treble Choir
- 9th Grade Mixed Ensemble
This year, over 100 student recordings were submitted by Pleasant Valley’s vocal music directors, showcasing the exceptional talent within our district. We are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by these students and staff.
These students will represent Pleasant Valley at the Opus Festival in Ames this November, where they will sing alongside the top vocalists from across the state in grades 5-9. Please join us in congratulating our students and their directors for this outstanding achievement!
