Pleasant Valley High School students Malea Johnson, Taylor Garrison, Jaren McGruder, and Rory Meeduri recently brought home top honors at the Make48 Innovation Experience, sponsored by Corteva Agriscience.
The event, held at Corteva's headquarters in Johnston, Iowa, challenged students to develop creative solutions to real-world problems in agriculture. The PVHS team tackled this challenge head-on, designing an innovative solution for planting corn that earned them the prestigious Innovation Award.
During the competition, students gained hands-on experience in the design process, project management, teamwork, and communication, leaving with skills that will undoubtedly serve them well in their futures. Their hard work and ingenuity were rewarded with Amazon gift cards and the invaluable experience of pitching their ideas to industry professionals.
A special thanks to Corteva Agriscience for hosting this incredible event and providing a platform for students to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills. Congratulations to Malea, Taylor, Jaren, Rory and Mr. Franzenburg for representing Pleasant Valley with innovation and excellence!
