Pleasant Valley Community School District has released your student’s latest MAP results on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal under More > “MAP Scores”. You will see their percentile ranking for reading and math. The number reflects the percentage of students that had a score less than or equal to your student’s score according to the most recent NWEA Norms study.
The MAP assessment is one tool the district uses to measure students’ progress or growth in the areas of reading, math, and science (5th & 8th Grade Only). It allows teachers and support staff to craft specific plans for each student’s needs.
MAP is a computer-adaptive test. If your student answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. This type of assessment challenges top performers without overwhelming students whose skills are below grade level. MAP measures what students know, regardless of their grade level. It also measures growth over time, allowing you to track your student’s progress throughout the school year and across multiple years.
If you have questions regarding your student’s MAP results, please contact your teacher directly.
