From April 19 - May 7, the elementary buildings and PVJH will administer the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). Developed by the Iowa Testing Programs Center at the University of Iowa, the assessment aligns with the Iowa Core standards to track student progress in a variety of subjects. This is an online test that will be delivered onsite during the school day. Testing will be scheduled at different times at grade levels during the testing window.
Students will be tested in the following areas:
Math: Grades 3-11
English Language Arts, including Reading and Writing: Grades 3-11
Science: Grades 5 and 8
For test security purposes, the state does not allow phones or any smart devices in the testing area. Students will be asked to secure cell phones and devices in their lockers. Phones and smart devices must be turned off during testing to reduce traffic on our network system.
We encourage you to make sure your student attends school and gets adequate rest during the testing window.
Elementary online students will take the test onsite at their teacher’s home building. Online students will receive a communication from their teacher to indicate when they should come to the school to take the assessments.
PVJH online students will take the test over three consecutive Friday afternoons beginning on:
April 16, 1:15 to 3:15pm - Reading (grade 7 & 8) and Science (grade 8 only)
April 23, 1:15 to 3:15pm - Writing
April 30, 1:15 to 3:15pm - Math
High school testing information will be coming out on April 30th. If you have additional questions regarding the ISASP assessment, please do not hesitate to contact your building principal.
