Welcome to another exciting school year at Pleasant Valley Junior High! I am looking forward to welcoming our new and returning eighth graders, as well as welcoming our new seventh graders, as they come together for the first time as Spartans.
It is a true privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic success and social growth. We have an amazing staff that is guided on the principle of doing what is best for students. We consider ourselves a family, and we are excited to welcome you!
Thank you for your very important part in your student's educational journey. I’m looking forward to another wonderful school year!

Once these have been completed please provide the date to your school nurse. The State of Iowa allows NO grace period for the start of the school year. Students without evidence of these vaccinations or an immunization exemption certificate on file will be unable to attend school in August until the requirement is met.
To sign up for athletics at the Junior High, you need to sign up with Family ID. Click here for instructions. You also need to provide an updated physical every year. We will no longer be collecting paper physicals; you must upload them to Family ID.
Season One Sports will start the first week of school. Cross Country, Football, and Volleyball on day one (8/23/2022) and then Cheerleading on day two (8/24/2022). Students that participate in athletics attend an Advisor period at the end of the academic school day from 2:32 pm - 3:10 pm at which time they are released to locker rooms to get ready for practices/games. Practice roughly starts around 3:20 pm - 3:25 pm and continues until around 4:55 pm. All activity (Late Run) buses leave the PVJH parking lot at 5:05 pm to return students to their drop/pickup locations.
To participate in the first practice your student needs a valid/up to date physical form uploaded to their Family ID account. NO physical forms will be collected by PVJH. Upload them to your Family ID account and keep the original for your records.
