Special Education
Pleasant Valley Community School District provides the full continuum of special education services and placement for eligible individuals from age 3-21, including preschool. Our belief is that students are best educated in the least restrictive environment whenever possible and that all students with special education needs are general education students first. Our goal is to ensure students with special education needs become independent learners.
Each of our six elementary schools, along with our Junior High and High School provide the continuum of special education services. When students are not able to make progress in their neighborhood school, the Individualized Educational Program (IEP) team may determine a different level of services and support is needed. Three of our elementary schools house Specialized Learning Classrooms for students that are not making progress at their neighborhood school.
